Feb. 7, 2008 – Happy New Year

Today is the beginning of the Chinese lunar new year. The Chinese word for "rat" and "mouse" are interchangeable. Now I have no excuses left, I have to get that mouse quilt finished!

The Chinese welcomed the rat as a protector and bringer of material prosperity. But it is also associated with death, war, and pestilence.

We shall see what the coming year brings, lets hope it is prosperity 🙂
