Oklahoma State Spring Retreat

I had a wonderful time at the State retreat this past weekend. The State Guild holds a quilters retreat two times each year. Once in the Spring and once in the Fall. This year the Spring retreat was held at the Western Hills Guest Ranch which is just East of Wagoner Oklahoma.
The facility is off of Fort Gibson Lake so it is a nice place to relax. This past weekend was cold and rainy. The lake was way up, but still beautiful. It was nice to stay inside and sew while still having the view of the lake through the large picture windows.
I taught an applique class on Saturday. The ladies in my class all did a wonderful job. Here are just a few of the many blocks that were created that day. This coming September the Fall retreat will be at Lake Murray.

Yes, and it all flows South! The lakes are all overflowing.

  2. Wow! I hadn't looked at the picture that closely. You all have been getting a lot more rain and stormy weather than we have. Most of the storms have come right up 44, and we are just far enough north that all we get is rain.

If you look at the closeup version of the lake picture you will see that bottom branches of the tree are in the water. I took that picture from inside my car with the window down. The lake was nearly up to the road.

  4. We have had some good indoor quilting eeather here, too. Once the weather gets nice and warm, I like to be outside. I did take a walk down to our lake yesterday between showers. It is almost full for the first time in three years.
