4th of July at Uncle Bob’s

I hope everyone had a great 4th of July. We went to Uncle Bob’s house like we do every year. The 4th of July just wouldn’t be the same without the annual tank battle. This must be a guy thing because the girls just don’t seem to care much, but every year they get together and show the little ones how to juice up the tanks. Then they blow each other up.
Cousin Krystal has a new baby boy so in a couple of years I’m sure he will be right in the thick of it learning how to load up the tanks.

  1. That would have to be my first project. I simply can't stand to be hot anymore.

Yes, it's blazing hot. The walk-in closet in my new bedroom is a converted attic and it's about 130° in there. It must be fixed!!

  3. Sounds like you are going to have a busy week! Is it hot down there? I went out to work in the garden this morning. First I came back in to change into shorts and a sleeveless top, then when I got finished, I had to go take a cool shower to be comfortable again.

Thanks, yes I called an insulation company this morning. I'll have the guy come out and give me an estimate on blowing some extra insulation in the walls. Other than that I have lots of painting to do. Also, we need an electrician to come out and switch out the outlets that still have cloth wrapped wires. It's about 1/3rd of them.

  5. It is hard work, but I don't know what I would do without all six of them! But I understand people who don't think they are up to the challenge. There are some people who would be better off with a dog!
Your two are precious. Thanks for sharing all the nice pictures.
Have you started some serious house plans? Are you doing any thing major? It looks like a wonderful house.

Maybe not Mary Poppins but you are a great mom! It takes a lot more than I have in me to raise more than the two I have 🙂

  7. Yes, I have twelve! I don't think the youngest will come; he is almost one, and when the next three youngest come, their moms are coming, too. The rest are three and older. Still, it will be a challenge! I'm not Mary Poppins!
