Photo Quest #39 – Winter Light

This week's photo Quest is Quest #39 – Winter Light.

I haven't participated much in the photo quests since we bought our new house last summer. But yesterday was our wedding anniversary and we went out for a nice drive in the country and the perfect opportunity presented itself.

We were driving on a seldom used Oklahoma highway near Red Rock Canyon when we came upon this old filling station. These photos were taken on 12-6-08 at approximately 3:00 in the afternoon.
Even at this time of day, the shadows were long and the light was golden. If you double click on the pictures you can zoom in on them. Notice that people have written their names and dates in the grime on the windows over the years.

  1. These are the kind of shots I look for…Good stuff!

  2. Wow and double WOW! Sure have missed your photos and glad to have you back. What incredable photos, and thanks for the trip down memory lane.

I know what you mean. I've been wanting to just "get out of town" for a long time, but gas has been so high, it seemed so wasteful. But now that gas is cheap again, it was nice to just go for a drive.

  4. Great shots! What a pleasant surprise. I love to get out and drive around, but we don't do it very much any more.

    Thank you LB! 🙂
