No School Again Tomorrow!

This is what it looked like out my bedroom window this morning as the sun was coming up. It started yesterday just as the kids went off to school with freezing rain. Sometime in the night it turned to sleet and as of 5:30 p.m. today, it is snowing. The high for today was 19°. School was cancelled for today and we just got the call that it is cancelled again tomorrow. The good news is that I have a class to teach in Chickasha on Saturday and it will be 60°. Gotta love it.
It doesn't look too bad in these pictures but it is solid ice with a dusting of snow.

It's a very large district. Fortunately the little darlings will be back in school tomorrow (Friday). Yaaah!

  2. Bummer! Does your school district include a large rural area? Where we live, the buses have to travel over a lot of hilly gravel roads, so often school is cancel when you can drive on the black tops just fine.

It's nearly 50° now. School should have been open today, this is silly. We didn't get much snow, it's mostly ice, so not much fun.

  4. Our temps are in the 20s already this morning and the sun is shining. Are the kids having fun playing in the snow?

  5. Darcy says:

You are welcome! Schools are closed AGAIN tomorrow! arrrgh.

  6. Glad you didn't have any ice damage this time. We just got a couple of inches of snow here where we live. I do like your photos. Thanks for sharing!

  7. The high for today was 19°.Actually, the high for the day was 23. But it occurred at midnight with the temps then proceeding to fall for the entire 24 hour period. most of the ice fell as little balls this time. Those little balls have a name…..sleet.

It's in the 20's – so not as cold as you – but still too cold! LOL.

  9. Darcy says:

Luckily I haven't had to stick my nose out but it sure makes a clatter on the windows. How cold is it in DC? It is 17° here.

  10. Emjay says:

That's how the ice is falling here now – in little balls which hurt one's head! LOL.

  11. Darcy says:

Thanks, most of the ice fell as little balls this time. That means most of it bounced off the power lines and tree branches. It is a bear to drive on though.

  12. Emjay says:

The photos are gorgeous – as you say though it is hard to tell it is ice without icicles! I'm glad you can all stay inside!
